A Southwest Side man who was pulled from waters of Lake Michigan downtown this afternoon has died, authorities said.
Police were called to Monroe Harbor about 11:20 a.m. and pulled the victim from the lake, according to police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
Christopher Contreras, 22, of the 3900 block of West 60th Place in the West Lawn neighborhood, was dead on the scene off the 400 block of East Monroe Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy is slated for Wednesday.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
