A woman was lodged under a police car in the Marquette Park neighborhood after the motorcycle she was on crashed into the car early Sunday morning.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 40-year-old man, was thrown over the top of the bike, police said. He suffered broken bones in the crash.
The 22-year-old woman, a passenger on the motorcycle, ended up pinned beneath the police car and suffered broken bones and other internal injuries. The fire department was called to lift up the car to pull her out.
She and the driver were both taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition. Police said both should survive the injuries.
A police officer, who was sitting in his car completing paperwork when the motorcycle crashed, sustained minor injuries, police said.
Police suspect alcohol played a role in the crash.
