Catherine Glenn kissed and hugged her daughter tight when the two parted ways after a four-hour visit Saturday, Glenn’s 82nd birthday.
As always, Glenn hated to see her daughter go, said her daughter, Cathy, who promised to return the next day, Mother’s Day. Before that could happen, police found Glenn dead inside her home in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood Sunday morning, apparently beaten with a possible blunt object.
“This is like the worst Mother’s Day,” said Cathy Glenn, 39, standing outside her mother’s home Sunday. “This is like something you see in a movie or books. It’s not what happens to you.”
Police found Glenn in her home, a two-story building in the 7800 block of South Euclid Avenue, about 7:40 a.m. Sunday. Glenn lived on the first-floor, relatives said.
